Lekeciai School Multifunctional Center has 35 teachers, 130 students, and kindergarten students in the same building. The school also has 18 staff members. Student’s age varies from 4 to 17 years. Lekeciai School multifunctional center provides 10-grade educations, which is the same as level 1 and 2 of the Gymnasium of the Republic of Lithuania.

The school completed the Olweus bullying Prevention Program and has been implementing the methods of a quality assurance system successfully for over two years now. After the general lessons, students are encouraged to participate in a music school, youth theater, sports school, and other non-formal education activities supervised by professionals.

Lekeciai School Multifunctional Center has its library and The Centre of Ceramics. Students from the first to the last grade attend the activities of the center, participate in the local and republics art projects. The Centre of Ceramics takes part in various national projects and organizes summer camps for Lithuanian children.

The school's standardized tests and PISA scores have been pretty poor for some years. We are very keen to improve them. Our survey results show that every year 15-20 pupils of our school find it is not interesting or too difficult to study, especially maths. Some of them leave school too early due to this reason. Exact sciences are particularly difficult and uninteresting for students.

We are intensively looking for new teaching methods and activities for the students.

The population of our district are mostly of Lithuanian descent. Only a few students from other nationalities attend our school.

We are sure, that our students have not experienced living in a multicultural environment on a big scale yet. Project activities would enrich students’ knowledge, wider understanding, and inclusion in this field. We believe that the project thesis is very important in today’s education system.

So, we see two main problems in our school, the low interest of students in science, early school leaving, and the reluctance to continue learning. Therefore we will involve students aged 11-16 in the project activities.

School teachers are experienced in international projects as the school is actively involved in national and international projects as a partner. We form a teacher's team (of 10 people), which includes maths, physics, biology, chemistry, and technology. If one person leaves the team, the other person will substitute according to the order of the school principal.
