Online meeting C2

    26.02.2021

Although the meeting wasn't planned in our primary activities of the project, the current situation significantly adjusted our lives and work styles. Teachers realized the impact of long exclusion from peers and lack of socialization on our students. The project group decided to keep students busy and involve in some additional activities. Teachers organized some international math lessons involving students from two different countries. We are very proud of ourselves for successfully completing math and design lessons online between Lithuania and Portugal, Slovakia and Portugal, two Turkish schools, Italy and Portugal and etc. Students worked very intensively during February. They learn a lot of new things.  Students learned the new Minecraft Education Platform. Other students learned thinkercad.com  and made many models of the buildings. During the meeting, on the 26th of February, students presented legends, historical facts of the chosen buildings. Also, they showed their work on Minecraft platform and printed buildings models with 3D printers. More than a hundred students, teachers and school staff took part in the meeting.

It was a great experience for our students to compare themselves to peers from other countries in a way to strengthen self-confidence and national identity. We are very pleased because the project successfully involved students with special needs and those who are not advanced in learning.

During the meeting, students actively communicate in the Zoom chat box, showing that they are lack communication during the pandemic. In reflection after the meeting teachers decided the next meeting make more communicative for students.

At the end of the meeting, students filled a survey of their reflections. We got a message that the meeting was successful, reached its multiple-goals. We knew that students understand the seriousness of the current situation and dream about live meetings as well. They liked working on Minecraft and feel involved in the project during the winter.  They had dreams for the future and one of them was to raise their level of learning. That was good news for teachers, who understood, that they were going in the right direction in this unstable time.

Our feedback shows that our meeting was successful!

    • It was another great event today. I congratulate everyone. I think we did a very valuable and wonderful job during this pandemic time. We are a great team and now we are a family.
    • Thank you to all dear partners.. Very good job. I would just have had more time to let the students talk together. We should plan a session where sts can work online together in separate groups /rooms and then show/present what they have done....
We can plan a task and let them work together as they would have done in mobility..
      What do you think?
    • Agree 👍
    • The etwinning platform is very good and safe for this. Students can be in contact with someone from there.
    • Congratulations dear friends! I love it
    • Fantastic!! Congratulations to all.
    • The meetings, even they are online develop our students' confidence in strength, nationality, and self-esteem. Such communications are very valuable in developing transnational European democratic values, for the tolerance of young people from other cultures, religions and traditions. This is also of the goals of the project. Thank you for being here,  for being with us. The time spent together is of the greatest value in our hearts. Thank you to the teachers, and to everyone who contributed to this beautiful event.
    • It was an amazing experience. My first time meeting foreign partners from different countries. It is invaluable to see both the creative and talented children who have created the historic buildings of their country using perhaps the most popular game today, Minecraft Education. Also see and hear teachers as they proudly present their work of their students. It is a great opportunity to get acquainted with the culture, history and even hear legends of other countries in the event of a pandemic.
