IES Costa del Sol is a dynamic school situated in a beautiful village by the Mediterranean Sea in Torremolinos. Our Region is Andalucía and our main town Málaga city.  Our area is well known for its fantastic weather and touristic charm.

IES Costa del Sol has approximately 400 students ages ranging from 12 to 17.  Or staff is composed by 38 teachers and 2 teacher assistants for special needs. The schools´ profile is very international as we enrol students from more than 28different countries who live in this area.  IES Costa del Sol is an inclusive school with several specific units for Special needs students and aProgramme of Linguistic and Academic adaptation for foreignstudents.

We have been strongly involved in Conservation and Recycling programmes for more than 15 years. Our Educational Programme works on different fields with project work on: environment, coastwatching, tree planting, gardening, recycling, robotics, art, theatre, Civic Education and Sports,and foreign languages.  We implement a lot of non-formal training and learning activities out of school with, workshopsvisits to Museums, and Cultural International School travels to European cities.

We participate actively in many National and Regional contests to stimulate our students such as “ProfundizaProject”“Escuela Espacio de Paz Project”. Our School has its own ONG “EducarenValores” from which we volunteer in many actions supporting disadvantaged communities and sponsor Educational and Social Projects in Africa, Asia and Latin America.IES Costa del Sol has participated in two other European Educational Projects and obtained in 2018 a European Quality label for both students and teachers work.

This year we have decided to deepen our research on the Environmental and Conservation field of work.We aim to move forward in this area by sharing and exchanging experiences “in situ” with our European associates adding European value and dimension to our educational commitment.
