Presentation Northern Ireland from Arden School

  •    Respect- Reuse- Recycle at Arden School 2020.

“Monalisa”- our school cafeteria"   Recycling - reusing, can we do it better?

We use paper plates and plastic containers and we counted how much plastic we use a day.  For a recycled bottle you get 1 Danish crown We counted how much non recycle material was used every day.

On Arden School when we have left overs we just sell them the next day.  And every day we make 80 Hot dishes and 38 Sandwiches. And sometimes we make the hot dishes out of leftovers. The thing that we sell the most of is Sandwiches.

We should use good reusable plastic instead!

We want to do better at Arden School.

On our school we are sorting the garbage in our classes. We are sorting it into Paper/ cardboard - plastic/ metal - and waste that can´t be reused.

Saving the turtles is one of the biggest projects.

but the biggest problem in the ocean is the microplast.Billedresultat for Turtles  Billedresultat for plastik problem

We collect money from recycled bottles.Plastic bottles with recycle mark on goes in this box - the money from it will go to footballs for the middle group classes.

We will try to economize with electricity.

Emilie and Marie have made posters. They say to switch off the lights and close the doors.

Plastic is one of the most problematic things, the problem is at most in the ocean. The fish, turtles, dolphins, and also the birds, that eat fish. The turtles eat most of plastic-bags, because it looks like some of the jellyfish they like to eat.  Fish eat plastic because it looks like small shrimps or something they can eat. Most of the plastic is dangerous because animals eat it, but some of the plastic like fish-net, and strings, can choke the animals.  Also when plastic dissolves in the water it becomes micro plastic which can end up in humans.
