Caring for our Environment

  • Pupils at St Julians Primary school are using lockdown to take part in a global penguin project where the plight of global warming is being highlighted. We have all painted a colony of 50 penguins which will go on displayin Australia, in Tasmania.

Shoscombe Pupils in Year 4 and 5 have been learning about the problem of plastic pollution - They created a display in their classroom with all their thoughts and questions about the issue.

Shoscombe Year 6 pupils visited Brean and worked hard to clear plastic rubbish polluting the beach.

Children at both St Julian's and Shoscombe school take part in forest school sessions where pupils learn about how to look after our environment and how to be respectful of nature. We learn about the plants and flowers around us and the benefits they have.

St Julian's school pupils learned all about respect for the environment by visiting the ancient site of Stonehenge and learning all about English heritages' committment to preserving it for generations to come.
