Cultural events

  • St Julian's and Shoscombe Church School pupils and their teachers spent a lot of time learning all about aspects of World War 2 and the impact on peoples lives. It was a wonderful opportunity to teach pupils about Respect. We had many visitors and children went on a trip to STEAM museum Swindon to experience what it was like to be in an airraid shelter and to be evacuated. Both schools performed a sing along of wartime songs to parents, grandparents and elderly local residents from our community.

We also made poppies and learned more about symbols of respect and rememberance.
