    1ª reunião da EQUIPE DO PROJETO (PROFESSORES E ESTUDANTES) : - iniciando a revista de atividades do projeto - Treinamento de geminação em E para os alunos - definindo um plano de ação detalhado para o primeiro ano do projeto As reuniões locais do projeto ocorrerão uma vez por mês. As equipas locais irão verificar a realização das tarefas, propor novas experiências e ideias para atualizar a plataforma eTwinning.

    From September 2018 until August 2020 participants will collect all necessary information to upload to our common e-twinning space. Using the e- twinning space to disseminate all meetings, activities and outcomes, to develop a space of collaboration, to be a kind of portfolio of all the project work.

    FROM PIATGORAS TO GAUSS (October – December 2018). There will be weekly classes . During these classes students will - collect information about history of math, - learn about famous mathematicians and their achievements - make PREZI presentation about mathematicians.

    In December there will be a meeting for school comunity (students and parents) to present results of this part of project

    There will be weekly English classes for project students who have difficulties in English

    P11         10-2018     LOGO contest , Students from six schools designed LOGO of the project. In November participants will vote for it.

    P12        12-2018         Students will gather information about Germany. They will make exhibition of posters about country of partner's school. There will be competition about geography , culture and history of Germany

    MATH AND GEOGRAPHY (JANUARY- MARCH 2019) There will be classes . During these classes students will a) plan their day trip: - work with maps to find possible route from A to B , choose the shortest one and convert centimeters to kilometers according to scale, and convert to miles - work out how long it might take to travel to their destination on a coach that averages a speed of Xkm/h (convert to m/h) -work out what time they would need to leave school in order to arrive at a specific time or what time they would get there if they left school at a specific time. b) calculate the difference in local times (partner schools) based on the difference in longitude c) Students based on the MAP and the perpendicular bisector identify a place that is halfway between the partner schools. They suggest a city where they could meet to have a similar length of travel. All students work will be placed on e-Twinning platform

    Students will gather information about Portugal. They will make exhibition of posters about country of partner's school. There will be competition about geography , culture and history of Portugal

    IT IS BEAUTIFUL (April – June 2019) During weekly classes students will look for mathematics in art: perpendicular and parallel lines, symmetry, golden ratio, fractals, parabolic curves, Sierpinski’s triangle, platonic bodies. Students will draw or build different kind of shapes. They will look where they can find them in reality for example in architecture.

    In June there will be exhibition in school hall with student’s works and photos of real examples.

    P16        06-2019     Meeting for school community. Students who took part in learning activity in Portugal will present their observations and results from the meeting .

    The swedish team will prepare evaluation surveys. All partner schools will do evaluation. After first year the survey will be for - students to examine their involvement in the project, their interest in activities,.... - teachers to measure their satisfaction, to examine whether the project helps to improve the workshops,... - parents to ask them if the project activities helped their children to deal with mathematics

    ERASMUS + DAY. Event for local comunity. Partner schools will promote Erasmus+ program and project "Don't be afraid of math". There will be exhibitions, stands with students' works, presentations from transnational activities,....

    P19          07-2019       Writing and submitting a report on activities in the first year of the project

    P20         08-2019        Teacher's meeting. Training for teachers at the school about the Erasmus + international program, its actions, opportunities for participation and benefits.

    P21         08-2019         Video conference. Training for teachers about CLiL lessons run by a team from Portugal

    P22          09-2019           Project meeting (teachers and students) - setting a detailed action plan for the second year of the project

    P23            09-2019       I WILL BE AN ENTREPRENEUR (September – November 2019) Students will have workshops to learn : - how to manage money - “ start a company” and plan to not go bankrupt - Thomas A. Edison's strategy as an entrepreneur - how to save in bank - how to pay off a bank loan - How to earn by investing in the stock market. They will visit banks and have meeting with entrepreneurs

    LET’ HAVE FUN (December 2019 – February 2020) During weekly classes students will: - Play Casino (using probability) - Make puzzles, games, quizzes connected with maths - design games using programs learningapps.com, kahoot.it - Prepare different maths problems for students from partner schools (which will be used during learning-teaching activity)

    FROM THE BINARY SYSTEM TO CODING (March – May 2020) During weekly classes: - students will be introduced to various numeral systems (Roman, decimal, binary, sexagesimal numeral system) - they will find the connection and the difference between the terms "Computing" and "Coding" - enable students to use their maths knowledge and skills when creating simple computing programmes, e.g. LOGO - students (and teachers) will learn how to program micro:bit computers - students will learn how to use the micro:bits in solving various maths exercises

    Exit tests for students: Math and English. Comparison of ENTRY and EXIT tests will be used to evaluate the project. There will be also comparison of maths marks which students (who participated in project) achieved in the beginning and in the end of project

    Evaluation surveys. All partner schools will do evaluation. in the end of the project The survey will be for - students 1) to examine to what extent mathematics is difficult for students and whether they see its usefulness... 2) to check if the project activities have helped in the better understanding of mathematics 3) to check if the project activities have fulfilled their tasks - teachers 1) to measure their satisfaction 2) to examine whether the project helps to improve the workshops, 3) to check if they want to participate in such projects in their future' 4) to ask i whether they noticed improvement in their students' mathematical skills - parents to ask them if the project activities helped their children to deal with mathematics.
