Writing: “Wellbeing in different contexts” and “Nutrition Map” poster work

  • A mixture of international students from partner schools formed groups of three-four. Each group was given a written context/situation that is relevant to teenagers’ life and wellbeing. Each group worked on the material given to them, brainstormed some ideas and wrote in English role-plays and their own versions of ending to them.

While the writing activity was in progress, other groups of international students consisting of six-seven tried to map their own country’s/ region’s diet they think best represents their region/ country and prepared a poster of the diet.

At the end of the activities, the groups that were in the writing workshop acted out what they wrote and the groups that were in drawing workshop presented their posters to the audience, explaining what the diet consists of and what it is like.

The activities were productive and allowed students to practise English both in oral and written forms. Shortly, the students managed to speak, write, speculate and act in English and express their ideas drawing as well. Drawing nutrition maps of the partner countries allowed everyone to have, at least, a general opinion of the partner countries' cuisines and aroused curiosity.
