Why the French students and teachers were so happy in Raciborz ! !

There is a moment during the stay that marked me enormously. It was the hike on the mountain on the border of the Czech Republic.

I remember falling in the mud and the moment was very embarrassing. I had mud everywhere and had several emotions that came to me.

When we arrived, we were all tired and anxious. Of course we had wondered all day about how the hosting families where going to be. And after meeting with them, it was great to see how happy they were to participate.

For me, the most important thing during the experience was to have the opportunity to meet and bond with others, which expectedly, turned out to be an absolutely easy thing because of the great environment and organisation to make it all easier.

In this idea, I think the moment that was the most important was the first day in Raziborz, when we went to the school. Because it was during this day that we all got to start talking and there was always someone around ready to start a new conversation. It could have been pupils part of the project, or just volunteers to help, or teachers, or people that weren't even in the school that I had the chance to meet. And I could keep in touch with them even until now. It brings so much for me, maybe more than the activities, althought they were part of the things easing the exchange. So for me it was really the first day, and entering the spirit and atmosphere of the project that I loved the most.

The trip allowed me to make beautiful encounters, there were many moments that I will never forget.  For example the day when we had an activity which consisted of making a salad in an international group.  Each person in the group did not know each other too well but there was something that made us feel comfortable.  I find that cooking with someone can create a bond between people without even noticing it and that's what happened in my group.  I didn't know the persons in my group.  I got to know them during this activity and that's what was great.

I'm not going to write any of their names because I don’t want to make any mistakes.

The Wednesday of our week in Poland is one of my best memories because Oskar, my host, wasn’t in any activities and I would see him only in the evening and morning.

The day after school, Oskar invited me to hang out with his friends. I was a bit anxious to meet them but I relaxed because if they are Oskar’s friends, they must be friendly just like him.

We took one of them to his house and he seemed nice. After that, we went into a shop. This moment was kinda awkward because he couldn’t speak English but he could understand it a bit since when I would try to tell something, he would understand and nod his brown-haired head at me.

However, Oskar was there to save the situation because he was translating everything. At this moment I realized the Polish language is truly beautiful but it seems so hard.

But when we arrived at the shop another boy joined us, we bought some snacks and continued our little walk. They were really funny and welcoming.

Afterward, on the way to the Church, I met two other of Oskar’s friends, they were nice. I remember that one of the two blonds told me that he was really bad at English, however, he told me a lot of great and full sentences.

When we finally arrived at the Church, all of Oskar’s friends asked me to speak in French for them, so I did. Then they hugged me goodbye and then Oskar and I went to do urbex next to his house and that was even cooler.

I remember the evening when my correspondant took me to the field with his brother in a tractor. We stopped at a river to make ricochets with the pebbles, it was really exotic. We talked about various subjects, more or less interesting, about our storis, with a more or less correct Englishbut didn’t really take into account at the time. Night was falling so there was these soothing feeling. For someone like me who’s coming from the city, it was my first time staying in a countryside of the country, so it really changed my daily for a week, I discovered a new way of living.
