Environment and Energy

  • Environment and Energy 2018 (Annual exhibition)

During the three days from October 19 to 21, visitors were able to find out about efficient heating and use of energy resources, the latest heating equipment, sewage treatment and water supply. There was a non-powered driving self-driving car created by specialists from Estonia, but researchers at the home electronics and computer sciences department told how to adapt any car for self-driving. Everyone was able to test rides with mopeds and scooters, and get acquainted with electric cars. Several seminars and presentations on energy-efficient solutions, granular heating, green energy, grid monitoring and other topical issues took place at the exhibition.

There was an opportunity to observe a hotel and lonely bee houses. Experts from the Latvian Fund of Nature also presented natural meadows and ways to preserve them, as well as invited to follow live broadcasts from protected bird nests.

It was possible to find out how to make the greenery of the backyard more environmentally friendly - how to make your garden and yard friendlier to insects, birds in winter and plants.
