Preparation activities in Piteå: Students at the forest

Boreal winter arrives soon and Sjulnässkolan students in middle of October arranged a outdoor day together with Ewa-Marie Zetterqvist from the organization; “ Skogen I skolan”- “ The forest in the school”.

This organisation is a nonprofit interest organization for students in Piteå. They collaborate with forest companies in Sweden.  The student sreally enjoy the nature and took some photos and investigate the different type of trees and minerals.

Ewa-Marie explained a lot of thing about the age of the forest and how much forest we have in the north part of Sweden.

"The trees are pines and spruces, they are about 85 years old the spruce trees grow in a special way up on the hill and the name is “elevation spruce forest”. The minerals are fluorapatite, pyrrhotite and rutile".
