Geometric rectification

  • “Fotoraddrizzamento”/ Geometric rectification

    In order to analyze the proportions of the buildings that the students have visited and to find out the Golden Number in these structures, we have used a procedure of  descriptive geometry called "fotoraddrizzamento" using free software designed by the university IUAV of Venice.

    This technique is useful to make a metric survey of a building just using a photo of it. You only need:

    1. a good shot (not foreshortened, as frontal as possible and without dark shadows);
    2. the RDF software;
    3. the measurements of some vertical and horizontal architectural elements.

    In the tutorial Matteo will show you how to use the RDF app and the results obtained for the Archbishop’s Palace of Brindisi. Enjoy the video!

     A lot of thanks to Matteo for this helpful video!
