MISS AND MISTER GOLDEN RATIO

  •

With the activity presented in this page, the students were invited to discover how close they approximate the Golden Ratio, when it comes to their facial characteristics. The results helped us to form the transnational teams and gave a fun touch to the project since the activity ran as a contest for the male and female student approximating the Golden Ratio the most; Miss and Mister Golden Ratio!

Here is a simple and fun activity to find out how proportionate you are, all you need is a meter, a mirror and a calculator.

First of all, standing in front of a mirror, you have to measure four distances:

a: from the forehead to the nose base

b: from the nose base to the bottom of chin

c: from the eyes to the center of lips

d: from the center of lips to the bottom of chin

Be careful to use a rigid measuring instrument to do it correctly

Last, but not the least...report the distances on the spreadsheet following the link below:

After this metric survey, you need to calculate the ratios: a/b and c/d and take note of the results, preferably by writing them down on a photo of yours, as in the example.

The students that will get the closest results to the Golden Number will be proclaimed Miss and Mister Golden Ratio!
