Teaching unit-literature timeline

  • Learning literature together

    1. Students are to complete padlet posts about famous writers. They write a short description without mentioning name of the writer. They learn how to work with key information, they must critical thinking to be able to give the right clues.

    2. Students answer questions as individuals or teams, they can use the internet.

    3. Once completed padlets, students prepare a timeline (Czech literature, Italian literature and Spanish literature separately) - and search for following information - period, type of author, genre and masterpiece, important fact e.g. nobel prize)

    4. students introduce a number (depends on teacher) of writers - speaking activity, they can use their timeline as a crib.

    Aim: to learn basic information about national writers - the most important ones.

    ICT: Padlet, google

    Vocabulary: writer, playwright, novelist, short story, philosopher, poetry, poet, sonnets, chapter, masterpiece, nobel prize winner....
