PROJECT TEAM FROM HUNGARY
Hello, everybody!
I'm Marianna from Hungary and I'm the deputy headmaster of a medium-sized secondary grammar school in a small town (Gyomaendrőd) in the southern-eastern part of the country near the Romanian border. As a deputy headmaster, I take an active part in improving the learning environment and organising resources and the process of teaching/learning paying special regard to exams and school events. Among my tasks are setting the directions, aims and objectives of our school, planning how progress will be made and building productive relationships with other partners, schools and organisations.
I'm specialized in Arts, Geography and English. As an English teacher, I teach English to the 11th graders. Besides me, there are 2 other English teachers who will actively take part in this project. Among our aims is to provide a stimulating learning environment for our students, in which they can develop their skills to their full potential. I think participating in this project, cooperating with students from other countries with different cultural backgrounds is a great opportunity to practise the language and broaden their mind and point of view. Anyway, our students are between 14 and 18, and their language levels range from A2 to B2. We are trying to involve lots of students in the project regardless of their command of the language.
All in all, we are really happy to work with you and get the chance to get to know each other during this project.
If you want to know more about us, you can visit our websites: www.szentgellert.hu www.gyomaendrod.com/en
Kind regards from Hungary with extremely cold weather at the moment.
PROJECT TEAM FROM ISTANBUL, TURKEY
Hello my Colleagues,
I am Ahsen as an English teacher from Turkey. I have been working at Turkiye Gazetesi Vocational High School for three years, which is my third year in experiencing the teaching process as well. Together with my students, we are a warm team from Istanbul being one of the most fascinating and historical cities all over the world, and we can say that Istanbul is the beating heart of Turkey. Basically our school exists in Bahcelievler, the European side of Istanbul. Since it is a vocational school, we have certain departments such as IT, Accounting, Marketing Field etc. The students' ages of the school ranges from 15 to 19. But I am working with the 10th grade students whose ages are 16-17 and whose departments are different from each other. We are about twenty five people in this project.
As a simple person, I am always in an endless search for something new to improve myself both professionally and individually. So I want my students to get into a new learning area which is totally unknown for them. Also I want them to learn knowledge not just in the classroom but out of it. Most of my students have A2-B1 level, and unfortunately some of them don't. But they are so eager that I believe they will also break through their barriers and will achieve this project. I just try to provide them a real life situation to active their language. Hopefully we will enjoy the whole process all together.
Best regards from Istanbul
