In Gortskehy National School we have been building a prototype of the ExoMars rover using lego. Some time was spent researching the design of the European Space Agency rover which will travel to Mars in 2020. We had to take our rover apart and start again many times until we achieved what we wanted. In Portugal the pupils will show our partners how to build and programme the rover. It will programmed to avoid obstacles and use a colour sensor. It took a lot of time to build and programme it but the pupils had great fun and learned so much. We look forward to sharing the experience with our partner students when we all meet in Portugal in March 2017.
