Climate system

  • Dear students,

Althought climate and weather seems to have the same definition, climate is quiet different so before we begin our trip to module1 it's important to give some definitions.

Please visit the URL:https://www.meteoblue.com/en/weather  and click on weather maps so as to develop the weather map in your city. Which information does this map gives to you about weather elements?

    Complete these in the table:

Now that you developed that weather refers to the weather conditions in a smaller area  over a short period of time, let's see what is climate.

Climate refers to the average weather conditions in a large area over a long period of time.

As you can understand it's weather that makes a climate. But how does the climate system work? Let's watch a video...

In national teams try to complete the table given to this template and write a small paragraph where you describe the climate in your place

    template.doc

and upload this to the following twinboard.

    source:https://www.environment.gov.au/climate-change/climate-science-data/climate-science/understanding-climate-change/indicators

You can develop it even by taking interviews from your grandparents on how the climate system has changed since they were kids. Please make a interview and upload all these you will develop to the following padlet.

If we go a step further we meet Global Climate -the average weather of our entire planet over many years.

Climate Change refers to global climate - actually to the changes to the earth’s climate over a period of many years.

Watch the following video to develop what it is and what exactly we are doing wrong :

but for a better understanding we reccomend you to watch the following video:

We are ready now to explore the causes of climate change.
