Swedish Team

  • The Team

The Swedish school have ten programs, and therefore the choice was to involve as many programs as possible from the start. Therefore, the Swedish team is a group of people from different programs of the school - in order to spread the word and knowledge about the Flagship project to more students and teachers than the once directly involved in the project.

The school calls the Swedish team the internationalization group.

    • Main project coordinator is Jeanette Bolin (natural science).
    • Student work coordinator and international meeting coordinator is Ulf Edström (building and construction).

The Swedish group also contains of teachers who help the students with information and making sure that the students can use their newly found knowledge in the ordinary classroom. These teachers are:

    • Törje Sundberg (electric program)
    • Joakim Moberg (building and construction)
    • Viktor Nilsson (industrial and electric program)
    • Lars Björk (natural science)

Finally, we have two teachers to help and manage the quality of the final product.

    • Concerning 3D- final product: Anders Wallgren (technology program)
    • Concerning dissemination and catalogue: Oscar Friström  (trading and administration program)

    Area of Responsibility

The area of responsibility was discussed in the first teacher's meeting. There it was decided that Sweden should be responsible for risk management.

First, we realized what a great task this might become. When you work for two years, across borders, with many people there are bound to be great risks. You can have people hurting themselves, get lost, not being able to cross borders, break laws. Our project of different construction puts them at an immediate risk from time to time, and of course, the project in itself is in risk of not being finalized. From the beginning, we were baffled over the mountain of risks, in front of us.

However, as the projected started out with a budget problem it created some irritation between countries. Therefore, it became natural for us to step in and take a mediating role, not only since we saw the different sides of the argumentations, but also since we realized that a lot were lost in translation. Hence, we continued on that path in our risk management and mediated during meetings or having more or less contact between countries.

Furthermore, there were some risks about the project ahead. Firstly, we had a problem with students finishing their respective schools and leaving the project. We then lost learned knowledge that these students were supposed to give new students. This became problematic since the final product was dependent upon the newly found knowledge from each country. Quickly we realized that we were able to conclude, what we call, an anchor student. A student that followed on all the trip to be able to secure the quality of the final product as well as being a security blanket for the new students. Therefore, David Lindgren has been the only student going on all the trips.

Moreover, we also secured the final product by bringing in professional teachers that had worked with 3D printing and publication before, both in school related assignments as well as in private corporations.

In the end, we feel that we did a good job, not singling out detailed risks from the start, but rather see them as the appeared, and yet continuously have a close eye on the final product and the realization of the final goal.
