C3 - Hungary, Györ

  • The meeting of partner schools was organised in 2018 from 19th-23rd of November in Győr. The aim of the two-year project is to build energy-efficient and long-lasting houses, lodgings. As a result, with the cooperaion of international partner schoools a building construction concept has been made. It differs according to environmental and social needs. The most significant factor in planning the houses was the achievement of energy efficiency, sustainable energy sources and usage of the latest technologies. During the project passive and active building techniques were used.

The topic of the  one-week-long project in Győr was to design a modern water purification and supply system. After arrival of our guests this week was opened by Eszter Gede the head principal of Győr Centre of Technical Vocational Training and the headmistress of our school Marianna Szentpéteri. One of our students Máté Mislai from class 2/10 B made the opening ceremony more colourful by singing folk songs and showing how whip snapping is used by shepherds. After this we could listen to the presentation of international partners before noon. In the afternoon everybody took part in a guided sightseeing tour of our town, where the Swedish, Spanish, German and French teachers and students got to know the monuments and sights of Győr.

On 20 November, on Tuesday in the first half of the day Tivadar Somogyi the vice mayor greeted all of the participants of the project in the Town Hall. After the greeting the students went back to school and started working in mixed international groups with the guidance of the teachers. In the evening the students joined an event Open Days which is held yearly in our institution. To make the event more popular a presentation about a water system was carried out while the participants of the project visited different stalls, where all kinds of trades were on display.

On Thursday in the final common presentation the teams could show their ideas about the water system of future homes. During the week some professional trips made the work more colourful. We visited the stove museum, the water tower, the Town Hall, the Abbey, the wastewater plant and Aqua Spors Centre where the most modern water technology is in use.

On 21st November on Wednesday we travelled to Pannonhalma to visit the Abbey where our students got the chance to see the biomass heating point. The operation of the Abbey is cost-efficient and environmentally friendly. The kids and teachers got familiar with historical past of the Abbey in a guided tour.

On 23rd November on Friday all of the participants took part in a one-day trip to Budapest, where the most important step was to visit a waste-water treatment plant in the country, where due to high standards of technology they generate heat and electricity with the use of biogas. What is more, protection of the environment , and in particular of the soil is significant in the process of sewage sludge regulations to make it energy-efficient and enviromentally friendly.

Finally, working with international partners was efficient. All of them were satisfied and had a great and useful time in Győr.
