ENVIRONMENT is one of our project's topics. Learning how to protect our planet, nature and wildlife, is absolutely urgent, so we are trying to educate our students in this regard.
Some of us attended teacher Manuela's "Litter@sea" environmental lesson. "The Global Plastic Cleanup Brigade" is a virtual lesson that keeps going round the globe, having impacted thousands of students worldwide since its creation in 2017.

Poland (Jola Arciszewksa): Polish students and teachers had a great online lesson with Manuela Correia. A Portuguese teacher talked about plastic. It is a menace to animal, the Earth and in consequently to humans. The students now know what they need to do to make it better. Thank you Manuela for a wonderful and very important lesson!
Espinho beach, August 2021: Welcoming the Trash Traveler in Espinho... again!... was wonderful. This year, we went on a 'Butt Hike', had several other activities, like Ana Milhazes' workshop (Zero Waste Portugal), some cardboard games, all with the cooperation of "Bandeira Azul", and watched a preview of the documentary that Andreas Noe's crew (CameraWithNoName) made about his journey along the Portuguese coastline last year.

Greece (Christine Oulousidou): In June 2020 fifth graders watched a documentary called "Plastic Free Archipelago" in the school computer lab. They learnt about "Typhoon", the ship that cleans remote shores from garbage and plastic from the Greek islands.
Several other environmental issues were also mentioned such as biodiversity.
The photos below are the students' pictures from this event which sensitized them to make the drawings and in their way protest about our mistreating the environment.

August 2020 @Espinho beach: We met The Trash Traveler! Andreas Noe is a German national young man hicking the Portuguese coastline to raise awareness to the plastic pollution crisis. He does it in a joyful way, not pointing fingers to anyone, and always singing while playing his ukulele. Three different projects joined forces in Espinho: The Plastic Hike, Litter@sea and Bandeira Azul.
