    CHRISTMAS IN PROVENCE

The Oil Pump is a traditional cake made in Provence, France.

The recipe is presented by Henri.

In Provence, the tradition is to have 13 desserts for Christmas. Here is the explanation by Henri :

    THE 13 CHRISTMAS DESSERTS

The 13 desserts of « Provence » represent the 12 Apostles and
the 13th guest, the Christ, who share together their last
meal :The Supper. Shortly after the Christ will be crucified and
resurrected. Symbolically the 13th dessert must stay on the table
during 3 days and everyone must taste one of the desserts
    which consist of :

    -dried figs
    -dry grapes
    -almonds
    -nuts or hazelnuts
    -grapes
    -melon
    -orange
    -dates
    -exotic fruits
    -the oil pump
    -white English Toffee
    -red English Toffee
    -black English Toffee

    GREECE

We had asked from our students to create an ABC's Greek Chrstmas e-book, before Monika suggests the creation of the shared e-book. Unfortunately they couldn't reach the class that we had created so we copied and pasted their work. If you want to reach it you have to click the photo.

In the last day before Christmas holidays, all the classes to our school prepare something relative to their specialty and of course related to Christmas. Our students have taken some photos to share with you...

You can see Poly, Chrysa, Georgia, and Katerina to our table...

They had prepared some Christmas decorations and candles, marmalades, spoon desserts and beeswax creams for a bazaar

and some Christmas cookies, melomakarona, melomakarona with chocolate, chocolate truffles and  omaties(or mpompari) for a treat

There was a table with some ideas for festive hairstyles

    a handmade unique Christmas tree

and a table with Christmas lights and a small Christmas tree

It wouldn't be a Christmas celebration without Christmas Carols and songs...

    and of course, dancing!!
