Paul Brummell, British Ambassador, was on Monday, the birthday of Mihai Eminescu and the National Culture, in Ipoteşti, where he recorded a video in which he recited the poem "Lake".
"It's January 15, the Romanian Culture Day, the date of the birth of Mihai Eminescu, the greatest Romanian poet, and we are in northeastern Romania, outside of Ipoteşti, where Eminescu spent some of his childhood. This is the lake known as the lake of lilies, which inspired one of Eminescu's most famous poems, «Lake», says the ambassador.
According to him, poetry is a "romantic" one that speaks of a young man who dreams near a lake to a woman who appears from the water. Brummell says that for the time when the lake is described in Eminescu's poetry in the summer, now the landscape is white, but very beautiful, writes News.ro.
