The target groups of Liceo Classico Statale "Tito Livio" prepare, conduct, and assess project activities at their school together with 12 working groups’ representatives from IES Urbi BHI and from Athena Pottelberg.
Activities connected with the results of project objectives
-Pupils and foreign families spended 8 days interacting in English.
-Foreign students, target group students, and project teachers introduced themselves in English.
-The principal of "Tito Livio", Mrs Amanda Ferrario, or one of her collaborators, welcomed project members on behalf of the school community.
-Target group students prepared activities, in English, for foreign students during both the weekend and the whole week.
-Target group students introduced, in English, foreign students to the rest of the pupils.
-Foreign students interacted orally in English with students, workers, and teachers of "Tito Livio".
-Foreign students prepared a farewell speech, in English, to hosting students and families, and thanked them for their hospitality.
-The international target groups and non-target groups prepared, conducted and assessed workshops against aesthetic discrimination.
-The international target groups visited the artworks analysed for the aesthetic guide at Pianacoteca of "Brera".
-The international target groups finished the aesthetic guides through Smore app (from the Fine Arts Museum of Bilbao, from Musée Royal de Mariemont in Belgium and from "Pinacoteca" of Brera of Milan).
-Foreign students and their teachers could attend and be part of lecture on Latin, Greek and other subjects given in English.
-The international target groups discussed and evaluated project activities and results connected to objectives by means of a rubric that they have previously made. Pupils proposed and redirect work strategies.
-Target groups and foreign students took part in a goodbye ceremony for pupils and families.
April 14th:
Welcoming Belgian and Spanish students.
We were very enthusiastic about the exeprience we'll have all together! And Italian hosting families too...
April 16th:
Our third mobility really starts.
-We have had an intense and envolving day, with:
Presentation of the schooll by a teacher; dancers` exhibition of Liceo Coreutico, a particular educational path that Liceo"Tito Livio" offers; guided walk at school; welcoming breakfast;
-Working in collaborative international groups and job shadowing (alternated activities);
-Guided tour around Milan city center: Duomo plaza, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, San Fedele square, House with Omenoni by Michelangelo, Casa Museo belonged to Alessandro Manzoni, Fashion district.
April 17th:
Between school and museums, with a leap into contemporaneity.
Today we went on with school activities (collaborative aesthetic guide and job shadowing) and visited Pinacoteca of Brera, with these famous masterpieces:
"The marriage of the Virgin", by Leonardo da Vinci;
"Vergin and the Child", by Giovanni Bellini;
"The kiss", by Francesco Hayez.
Lastly, a walk throughout Brera, a neighbourhood with its typical art studios, and Gae Aulenti plaza, an example of modern architecture and design.
April 18th:
The "Last Supper" by Leonardo and much more.
Today our students, divided in two groups, went to visit Leonardo`s "Last Supper" and the Sforza Castle (with the famous Pietà Rondanini by Michelangelo), besides looking at other place of cultural interest (such as Pinacoteca Ambrosiana or San Maurizio church); then enjoyed time at Sempione Park and in the quaint neighbourhood of the Milanese Chinatown (Paolo Sarpi street).
April 19th:
Day trip to "Villa Carlotta" and Como Lake.
For a focus on Neoclassical art (and Canova's masterpieces) and a restoration workshop, in the spectacular frame of Como Lake.
April 20th:
Last day at school and not only.
Today there were an art workshop (Mosaic on Pietà Rondanini, admired in Sforza Castle) and international working groups on BIS Project (aesthetic guides). For teachers who wanted to attend lectures by their collegues, there was job shadowing (two lessons on Manzoni and his famous novel, "Promessi Sposi").
Visit to Sant’Ambrogio church (only for students).
Work on project assessment, evaluation and planning for new tasks; planning for the second transnational meeting (Milan, October 2018).
Certificates awarded by the principal at school and farewell meeting with students and families, with a buffet.
April 21st:
Saying "Goodbye"...
Belgian and Spanish groups were accompanied by Italian students, hosting families and coordinator teachers to the airport (Bergamo Orio al Serio and Milano Malpensa, respectively) for their coming back flight to Bilbao and Kortrijk.
