Activity: Project mascot and logotype
Comments
October 2017
Arts students from all partner countries start working on a mascot (drawing, painting, graphic design, etc.) and also think about a name.
Portuguese students are only working on a mascot and name (and not a logotype). After the winner mascot is chosen, we will create a logotype, which includes/is included in the mascot.
2nd/ 3 rd
week November
Exhibition of the logotypes and mascots in all partner schools. School community in each partner country votes for the best logotype and mascot in each school.
As there is not much time the votes can be done by a group of teacher chosen by the board (for example)
3rd /4th week November
Mascot winners of each school will be shown online (on the project’s Facebook page) and will be voted by the surrounding community of all partner schools, so that in the end there is ONE mascot, name, logotype for the project.
At the end of November the project mascot and logotype has to be chosen so that the Turkish partner has time to create the real mascot.
December 2017
The Turkish partner creates the physical mascot to be able to travel to Portugal in January 2018.
We need ONE physical mascot to start the journey in January. However, all partners would like to have a physical mascot of their own. So, the Turkish partner could check if it is advantageous to create the six mascots, if not now, then maybe some time later. In this case, the expenses would be shared by the partners.
Throughout the project
The logotype of the project will be included in all documentation related to the project and the mascot will always be present.

Adapted already existing stories or newly created stories based on the country’s culture.
October 2017
to January 2018
Pupils of all partner schools will start working on traditional legends in their classes (mother tongue, History, English, etc.) By means of a class vote they will choose three legends (around 1 A4 page) and translate them into English to be shared with the partner countries involved on Twinspace and/or Padlet after the TPM in January 2018.
January
2018
By means of an international online voting ONE of the three legends shared by each partner will be chosen, so that there are 6 stories (one from each country).
February
2018
After the vote there will be an online meeting via Skype or Adobe Connect for the pupils to communicate, in order to decide on which languages might be used to translate the different stories (apart from English and all mother tongues). This will avoid repeated translations.
The students in each partner country will translate the chosen legends into their mother tongue and into another foreign language learned at school.
February
2018
In their Arts classes students will create illustrations for one of the chosen legends (of another country). The three best illustrations are voted (as there are three versions of each story).
This isn’t in the original project but I think it is important to illustrate the stories to have a nice colourful storybook with illustrations created by the students, if you all agree.
March
2018
All legends /stories will be shared online.
The Italian pupils create the Multilingual Digital Story Book (e.g. Lucidpress). The Digital story book will contain a legend from each partner country translated into three languages (mother tongue, English and a third language).

April
2018
Each partner country will be responsible for printing the book twice in order to be kept in the schools’ libraries and to be offered to the communities’ libraries.

Maybe it might be cheaper for 1 country to print all versions being the expenses shared by the partners (?)

October 2017

Students (from all partner countries) start working on information about their countries’ History, traditions, touristic sights, customs, etc. Italian students create a script for the videos to be filmed by students of each partner school after the TPM in January 2018.
January
2018
An online meeting via Skype or Adobe Connect will be held to discuss the script of the video, which is presented by the Italian students.

Students in each partner school will record a video (according to the script) and present their country sharing their videos on Twinspace and/or Padlet.
April/May
2018
Based on the videos published and as a chain, students from the different countries write the information for the multicultural brochure. German students are in charge of writing the Portuguese information for the multicultural brochure. In a chain, Portuguese students write about Latvia. Latvian students write about Italy. Italian students write about Turkey. Turkish students write about France. French students write about Germany. In the end all partner schools prepare a part of the brochure with information and images about one of the partner countries. Everything will be published on Twinspace and/or Padlet.
Students will also communicate through different social means (e.g. facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and email).
