MEETING REPORT
Monday, 8th January 2018
Official reception in the AESA auditorium
Presentation of the programme of the 1st Transnational Project Meeting
Presentation of the six partner institutions
Official presentation of the project’s mascot by the Turkish partner
The representatives of the six partner countries met and presented their schools to each other and to the invited audience.
The Turkish coordinator handed the mascot of the project to the Portuguese coordinator and the first part of the film of the mascot was presented (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZduaSj31Gg&feature=youtu.be).
In the evening there was a welcoming dinner for all participating teachers to socialize and to get to know each other better.

ETWINNING, ADOBE CONNECT AND GOOGLE SLIDE
The German coordinator and eTwinning Ambassador Andrea Ullrich presented how to use eTwinning and Twinspace and Adobe Connect to develop and disseminate the project. All teachers had the chance to experiment and interact. She showed an example of how to create dictionaries by means of Google Slide.
DICTIONARIES AND LANGUAGE PORTFOLIO
The Latvian partner will start the multilingual dictionary with very simple language, which should be presented during the students’ meeting in Latvia. The German partner will proceed on the dictionary and will present it in the students’ meeting in Germany. The French partner goes on working on the dictionary and it should be presented in the students’ meeting in Italy. The Italian partner will be responsible for the accomplishment of the final Language Portfolio which will be finalized in multicultural groups during the students’ meeting in Italy in February 2019. In the end it will be published as an eBook (ex. Lucidpress or Calameo).
DEADLINES
May 2018 – 1st part of the dictionary (Latvia)
September 2018 – 2nd part of the dictionary (Germany)
February 2019 – 3rd part of the dictionary (France)
Final Language Portfolio eBook (Italy)
MONITORING AND ASSESSMENT TOOLS FOR THE PROJECT
All partners have accomplished the previously defined tasks to be carried out until this meeting.
As for the assessment tools for the project the following has been reinforced:
After each international meeting there will be an assessment questionnaire.
The Turkish partner will be responsible for the creation of the following assessment questionnaires (for all partners to implement):

After the accomplishment of the main outputs (pupils involved in the activities)
-
General online questionnaire after the first year of the project (pupils, teachers and parents)
-
General online questionnaire after the second year of the project (pupils, teachers and parents).
The Turkish partner will also be responsible for the comparative study of the questionnaires in the different countries and also the comparative study between the first and the second general online questionnaire.
All these results will be analyzed during the 3rd transnational project meeting in Turkey in October 2019 in order to measure the impact of this project.
DIGITAL SCRATCH GAMES
The Portuguese partner with her expertise in creating Scratch Games with pre-primary and primary school children will start working on the games with the children. The Latvian partner will start teaching their pre-primary and primary school children the necessary English language in order to be able to provide for the recorded language to be included in the games. All partner countries will send the required recordings (in English and in their mother tongue) to be included in the digital games.
DEADLINES
1st February 2018 – Portugal informs about the language needed for the accomplishment of the games.
1st March 2018 – All partner countries provide recordings in which students speak in English and in their mother tongue about the previously asked topics.
1st May 2018 – Digital Games will be ready and shared.
MULTICULTURAL CARDBOARD GAME
Students in all partner countries have already started working on different aspects of their culture (ex. Traditions, festivities, personalities, etc.). Reports and images will be published on Twinspace. Each country will create ten questions and answers about another partner country. The countries in the left column will create questions and answers about the countries in the right column:
Germany → Italy
Italy → Latvia
Latvia → Turkey
Turkey → France
France → Portugal
Portugal → Germany
All sets of questions and answers will be published on Twinspace.
The Turkish partner will create a Kahoot game with the questions and answers published.
Simultaneously students in the different partner countries will start working on the cardboard game cooperatively.
A different part of the game will be created by a different country as follows:
Card front (with numbers) and back → Germany
Questions and answers sheet → Portugal
Table and box → Portugal
Counters → France
Dice → Latvia
Rules → Italy
All partners will have in mind that there have to be six copies of the same game. Printables will be shared online and dice and counters will be shared in Latvia in May.
If necessary online meetings will be held to monitor the process.
DEADLINES
15th February 2018 – All partner countries publish their reports and images.
1st March 2018 – All partner countries publish the sets of 10 questions and answers about one of the other countries.
15th April 2018 – All printable materials will be published (ex. Cards, table, question and answer sheets) so that all partners can print and accomplish their own game).
1st May 2018 – The Turkish partner will publish the Kahoot Game

New Technologies for the implementation of international projects: Padlet, Bityble, Socrative

Planning activities, task distribution and deadlines – Multilingual Storybook and Multicultural Brochure
PADLET, BITYBLE, SOCRATIVE
The Portuguese Future Classroom Lab Ambassador Sónia Barbosa presented the digital tools Bityble, Padlet and Socrative. All participants had the chance to experiment these tools, being this session very useful for the implementation and dissemination of the project.
MULTILINGUAL STORYBOOK
Students in all partner countries are working on traditional legends/stories in their mother tongue. In each country three stories are chosen to be translated into English and published on Twinspace in order (1, 2, 3) being number 1 the chosen story to integrate the final multilingual book. All stories (1 to 2 pages(?) are published in English and each country will translate into their mother tongue and illustrate one of the stories from another partner country. In the end there will be three versions of the same story with illustrations (up to three).
The countries in the left column will translate and illustrate the stories of the countries in the right column:
Portugal → Turkey
Turkey → Italy
Italy → Latvia
Latvia → France
France → Germany
Germany → Portugal
18 (3x6) illustrated stories will be published on Twinspace and the Italian partner will be responsible for the creation of the Digital Multilingual Storybook that will be published on Twinspace, so that all partner countries can print it to be offered to the school libraries and to the municipal libraries in each partner city.
DEADLINES
1ST March 2018 – Three stories from each partner country will be published (being the chosen one number1).
1st April 2018 – Partner countries will publish the translations and illustrations of the corresponding country’s story.
1st May 2018 – Italian partner will publish the accomplished Digital Storybook for all to print.
MULTICULTURAL MAGAZINE
This activity will be carried out throughout the whole project and finished in the final students’ meeting in Portugal in May 2019. To start, students from each partner country will record a 5 minute video in which they will present their country. They can refer to the following general aspects: The school, city, country, capital city, size, inhabitants, language, etc. These videos will be shared on Twinspace and will be worked on in multicultural groups during the international students’ meeting in Germany in September 2018. In that meeting students will write the necessary information for the Digital Magazine which will be created by the Latvian partner by means of Madmagz. Students will decide cooperatively how to proceed with the Digital Magazine.
DEADLINES
1st September 2018 – Videos will be published on Twinspace.
24th September 2018 – Digital magazine will be started with the information of the videos.
- Continuation of the Digital Magazine will be decided on.
May 2019 – Accomplishment of the final version of the Digital Magazine

The Portuguese coordinator made a short presentation of the CLIL methodology, which is one of the methodologies used in the implementation of this project.
All tasks and deadlines until the students exchange in Latvia were defined on the previous days. Teachers discussed practical aspects such as flights, accommodation, students’ selection, etc. As for the dates for the meetings to come are as follows:
Students Exchange in Latvia → 14th to 18th May 2018
Students Exchange in Germany → 20th to 24th September 2018
2nd Transnational Project Meeting in Reunion → 3rd to 7th December 2018
Partners made a general evaluation of the work developed so far having all partners accomplished the defined tasks. All teachers involved are very satisfied with this partnership and with the great work carried out by each one of the partners.
An evaluation questionnaire was filled in by all guests being the results attached to this report.
All participants were given a Certificate of Attendance of this 1st Transnational Project Meeting.
