  • INCLUSION

    By Liliana Portela, Portugal

We chose to draw something because we’d like to prove that, even without words, we can still send a good message to everyone about an important topic such as, inclusion.
This was drawn by Liliana Portela.

Watch your step, there might be a cute monster underfoot!

Chalk-drawn creatures by David Zinn are taking over city streets.

David Zinn is an American street artist who draws different kind of creatures and

animals on city’s sidewalks. He does (like he says himself)” small scale

improvised and (mostly) light-hearted chalk art”.

David has been creating original artwork in and around Ann Arbor from 1987.

He is a self-taught artist, so he hasn’t been in art courses. He learned how to

´ draw by himself. His art is quite famous and many people have come to see his

art work.  He has also taught creative writing and scenic painting, performed in

and directed several Gilbert &   Sullivan operas and recorded audiobooks.

His favorite chalk-drawn creatures are Sluggo (the green alien) and Pigasus (the flying pig).

David has also written a book called Temporary preserves. It’s a collection

of more than 100 photographs of David Zinn’s street art. It shows almost

every one of his chalk drawings.

You can find videos about David’s art from You Tube. If you are interested in his art go and check more!
