    VOLUNTEERING

      One of the topics we talked about in our English class was volunteering! It was a very interesting topic and we learned new things thanks to it and the project we did.

      The class was divided into groups and each one had to do some research about different Portuguese local volunteer organizations. After the presentations by each group, the class decided to invite one of them: “Liga dos Amigos do Hospital”.

      After that, the group who did the work about this organization invited them to come to our school to talk about their volunteering project.   They accepted the invitation and, some days later, they presented their project to our class.

    They explained how their project works, how we can volunteer and what the volunteers do. And so, after the presentation, the whole class understood more about this volunteering project. Some of us are really eager to join a volunteer organization!

     

    WHAT VOLUNTEERING REALLY MEANS TO TEENS LIKE US!

    Volunteering has a lot of advantages. For example, you develop skills and you improve your mental and physical health among other things!

     So, start volunteering!

    How to let go of stress

     

    Is your everyday more stressful than you can handle? here we got some tips for you, on how to let go of stress.

    Many tennagers have hard weeks on school. They might have activities in their spare time, and after that they have hours with homework. For many, there is not much time for relaxing. Me and Elisabeth thought that we might could help you letting go of all the stress and the constant pressure of always being perfect. Sometimes everything you need is just take a moment and really find yourself. Do more of what makes you happy, not what everyone else expect from you or want you to do, It’s not a shame to take a day off you know.

     

    We’ve taken some pictures about our best metodes to feel free and letting go of all the stress and maybe pain.

    We hope this made your everyday a little less stressful. Of course this is just some of our thoughts. You can decide yourself what you think will help you. The only thing that matters is that you are ok.

    Nature is beautiful. Take a walk in the forest, and let go of all your thoughts. Just take time to feel free and appreciated.

    Go climb a mountain. It symbolizes that everything is hard in the beginning. And you have to understand that if you hurry up way too much in the start you will get tired and might not handle taking the trip all the way up.

    But if you take you time, you will  manage getting to the top, and you’re going to have a feeling of success and powerness. And hopefully being very proud of yourself not giving up that easily.

    But most important; don’t give yourself too high demands. It’s not worth it. Live is not getting any better if you keep on pushing yourself to limits you can’t reach. Of course; do your best. But your best is good enough! You don’t have to do any better.

    Please, listen to your own voice, and think  “What would I have told a friend in my position”. You can’t be a good friend to others if you can’t be a good friend for yourself first. Take your time. Everything's gonna be ok. We promise.
