Learning activity (mobility) in Cluj - C3 from 23 to 27 May 2022
initially planned from 18 to 22 October 2021
Mathematics and environmental science (focus on Biodiversity)
Objectives:
During the C3 Learning Activity, the students will:
- develop their writing research article skills, use of both colloquial and scientific/ mathematical language for expressing ideas, for presenting the process and the knowledge gained- by working with their peers on the research article;
- develop the interactive oral communication skills – by realizing interactive presentations of their research topic and results in the Maths Research Forum;
- learn about Environmental issues – by attending lectures on Biodiversity, fishing in mountain rivers, and possible actions for sustainable development & visiting Tarnița and Beliș lakes and observing the mountain rivers and the forests in the West Carpathian Mountains & visiting the Botanical Garden;
- learn about Romanian traditions embedded in the ethics of protecting nature - by visiting Turda Salt Mine & Mărișel village;
- learn about Cluj-Napoca and Cluj region and its environmental issues - by visiting the city historical center and by meeting a representative of an environmental organization (non-governmental);
- learn about maths and its applications - by visiting the Visible Maths exhibition of the Smart Hands project, by visiting the Lucian Blaga Central University Library and learning how maths is used in the librarians' work (Dewey Decimal Classification), by attending a lecture on Euclidian and non-Euclidian geometries & by visiting the Bolyai Museum in Targu-Mures;
- be engaged to exchange ideas by working in groups.
