From Sunday, 29th May to Friday, 3rd June 2022 the fourth and last student exchange of our project took place in Pacov in the Czech Republic. For one last time, students and teachers from North Macedonia, Portugal, the Czech Republic and Germany came together to finalize their work on the topic of healthy nutrition.

On 30th May, the first official day of the project, the students visited the capital city of the Czech Republic, Prague. They were given the chance to explore the city, its culture and its history in different ways. In the morning, the students got a glimpse of Prague from above, climbing the 216-meter-high TV tower, enjoying the viewing and getting a first impression of Prague's most famous sights.

After that they joined a bus tour through the historic city center, learning a lot about the many sights of Prague and the history behind them.

The tour ended at Prague castle where the students had a small lunch in the park in front of the ballroom. At 12 o'clock sharp, they were able to experience Czech tradition first hand by watching the famous change of the guards in front of the Matthias gate. Then, they dived deeper into Prague's medieval history visiting an exhibition of ancient armory and weapons.

This was followed by a walk from Prague castle down to the Lesser Town, across the iconic Charles Bridge to the world famous Astronomical clock, witnessing its spectacle at the full hour.

After some free time for souvenir shopping or a historic interactive game, the whole group traveled by bus to Tabor.

On 31st May, the whole group traveled from Tabor to the lovely, yet small town of Pacov where the school of the participating Czech students is located. At first, the guests were warmly welcomed with an extensive cultural program showing traditional Czech songs and dances.

After that, they were able to broaden their knowledge on the (sporty) history of Pacov by visiting a small museum exhibiting items related to the history of motorcycle races in the city. This was followed by an interesting tour through the school organized and carried out by some Czech students of 9th grade, where the visiting students were able to compare their school with the one in the Czech Republic.

After a delicious, healthy lunch at the school canteen (salmon with potatoes), the students started the project work. They created different pins on the topic of healthy nutrition serving as a memory for the project time as well as advertisement for a healthy nutrition. Also, they solved a quiz on healthy nutrition and nutrients.

For the rest of the afternoon the focus lay more on the usage and expansion of their communicative skills since the students were divided into different international groups and sent on a scavenger hunt in Pacov trying to find different important sights, all the while being provided with interesting background information from the well-informed Czech students.

On 1st June the students visited the lovely historic town of Pelhrimov.

After a short, yet very informative tour through the historic part of the town and its architecture, they visited the museum of records located in one of the historic city gates. They were allowed to explore the museum on their own after they were given the task to find the five most impressive records related to food or sports activities.

In the second part of the museum, the students were even able to contribute to a world record themselves by bringing their local water and pouring it into a funnel, adding to the largest collection of international water in the world. After another healthy lunch in the historic city center (noodled with spinach), the students went back to Tabor to explore the historic city center there. Also, they visited a local supermarket looking for fruit or vegetables that are weirdly looking or sounding, or unknown to them for our lifestyle book.

On 2nd June, the last day of the student exchange, the students were given the chance to actually visit the local farm that had been presented by the Czech students during the student exchange in Portugal.

The farmer and her wife explained in detail the process of cheese making and some students enjoyed petting fully grown cows and bulls as well as baby calves. Moreover, the students tasted the local farm's yogurt drink in bio quality which most of them considered to be very delicious.

After another lunch at school, the students visited the school's very own garden, identified the different vegetables growing there and were lectured on the different kind of herbs growing in the herb garden and how to use them.

Also, they worked on the puzzles page of the lifestyle book, creating different kind of puzzles on healthy nutrition. The student exchange ended with a nice get-together of the Czech students with all the others in the center of Pacov where they were able to chat with each other, enjoy some nice ice cream in the sun and say farewell.
