a PLOTTER & a DOMINO Robot by Julia-Marialena

  • Our team is called "MarilenaJulia-RobotCreators"

     

    We have collected the following ideas to design and create robots:

     

    + a cleaning-robot that can drive and collect objects

    + a robot which can play domino by Marialena

    + a robot which plays mp3-songs songs and can move to the music (´dancing´) 

     

    because I cannot reach Marialena by any means I continue on my own:

    + a plotter who can draw something on a sheet of paper in x- and y-direction by Julia

    an EV3 Plotter by Julia

     

    Description of the Plotter

     

    It can plot for example a graph of an equation (like y=ax+b etc)

    on a sheet of the size DinA4,  the plotter consists of

     

    a pen which is mounted in a pen holder

    which is attached to the axle of a z-linear motor

    such that the pen can be lowered to and lifted from the sheet,

     

    the z-linear motor is mounted on an y-slide,

    the y-slide consists of of a frame with four gear wheels at each corner,

    two of the gear wheels are driven in the y-director by an y-servomotor (using a worm wheel)

    such that the y-slide can move in the y-direction back and forth

     

    the four gears intermesh with two toothed racks on a frame of an x-slide,

    the x-slide has also four gear wheels at each corner

    intermeshing with two toothed racks disposed along the side of the sheet

    two of the gear wheels are driven in the x-direction by an x-servomotor  (using a worm wheel)

    such that the x-slide can move in the x-direction to the left and the right

     

    a Lego-Mindstorms-EV3 is the controller of the x-servomotor, the y-servomotor and the z-linearmotor.

    an EV3 Domino Robot by Marialena

     

     

    An EV3 independent platform was built able to provide domino stacking capabilities.

     

    This is my designed Domino platform:

     

     

    This was built separately so that it could easily by mounted on top of the famous LEGO Robot Educator base.

     

    Lego already provides building instructions for this Lego Educator, that is really the simplest vehicle a beginner can build.

    This is a video from the 1st testing of it.

     

     

     

    Its performance can be improved by better programming of the motors.
