SOME MORE INFORMATION ABOUT US:
3rd LYCEUM OF VEROIA
We are located in Northern Greece at the root of a wide mountainrange. So, you get splendid views across the valley and the river. The city is quite famous thanks to our cultural heritage and agricultural production. We have been awarded the title of "Major Byzandine Monument" as a whole city as modern Veroia is actually built around and above the ancient city. The city thrived during ancient and Roman times as it was the center of a prefecture. Perhaps the most famous area is the royal Tombs in nearby Vergina. It houses the tomb of Phillipe II, father of Alexander the Great along with other kings and the Palace. We will take you there for a visit whrn you come and we are certain it is going to be a memorable visit. Apart from that, we have a large number of early-Christian temples, some that date back to the crusades and so UNESCO awarded us the above mentioned title. They will be a stop during your visit here, as well. Today, Veroia is one of the major producing fruit areas in Greece. We produce fresh and canned peaches, pears and apples and have many canning factories around. We have a long tradition of local pastries, the world renowed "Ravani" along with cheese and other dairy products.
Our school is at the outskirts of the city, with plenty of room for athletic activities, labs and classrooms. We have nearly 300 students and 30 teachers.
