  • Country of our dreams

    Imagine a country where all of us, Myriem's friends can meet and live together in harmony.

    This is the land where tranditional or modern, poor or rich, all citizens share the same values based on human rights.

    These values appeared as  words  hidden inside  this crossword and we need you to find them and offer this value to our land. 

    Tricky? YES! And is more than you think as....

    each one of you dear partners/friends (school participant in this project) has to find only ONE SPECIFIC word and only that word to be placed in that crossword. Each word for the crossword is hidden in a QR code and these QR codes are in SCHOOLS Subpages (under the main page "Where are Myriem's friends")

    So:

    1. You scan each QR code that you find in "Where are Myriem's friends" subpages with a QR-reader application on your mobile until you find your word

    2. You write your word on the crossword

    3. You go to the correspondant page of the value you found and you post your creation based on that value. Creation can be anything: poem, song, drawings, comments on a common padlet......in any format well adopted in the page.

    *****We solve crossword on google docs. Please login first with your gmail, a request for access the file will be sent to admin and after your registration to the users that can edit, you will able to write on the crossword

    Instructions for solving the crossword:

    1. You click the picture above and this is linked to a google doc, then access is requested (you have to login with your gmail and "request access" by clicking on the blue letters that say so, then automatically i will have a email with this request  and i will reply in your chat box with an "invitation to collaborate on this file". You will use this reply-email to enter in the doc and type your word. It  is more easy than it sounds... i could not find another way to have the crossword online and filling the words asyncronously and changes to be kept.

    2. The following picture is just a static image with the link to the online crossword. It will not change every time that a partner types his word. (Google docs above is the one that keeps the changes, the new words that are coming).  Solving the crossword online, on the site that the crossword was created,  is only for testing your word-QR Code. Instructions for using this:

    • Click a cell on the crossword grid, or click a clue

    • Click twice on a cell to toggle between across and down

    • The active cell is highlighted in blue

    • Start typing in the word

    • Hit enter when you are done typing in the word

    • The word will turn green or red if you got it right or wrong

    • You can use the tab and shift-tab keys to move around the crossword

    (and  :)  a step beyond... further recommended activities for each class: since you will have scanned many QR codes till you find your word you may create the whole solution of the crossword as an activity for all the pupils of your class. Students can share the countries and play the crossword in they circle. The extra activity could be to find some info for the country they have picked.)

    Mission of 4th Junior High School of Petroupolis is about their word in Collaborative crossword: "citizenship".We must create a text about this imaginary country where all myriem's friends live, based on the values that other partners posted on crowword. In this way we will create  the country of our dreams.We had made some preparation on this subject, basically with discussion on "citizenship" and here is what we have till now:  (of course our mission will be fulfilled in English)

    For this site, a guide of  European Union, our partner Stredie Robert, student at Colegiul National "Grigore Ghica", in Dorohoi-Rimania  won 1st place  at athe Romanian contest "History and Society in virtual dimension" and made all of us proud!
