New year's custom of chios

New year boats: Every year on New Year's Eve,groups of young people from different neighborhoods of the island gather in the central square presenting their boat with the accompaniment of games and musical instruments. Games are Carols with wishes. In the end the best team is awarded and traverses the boat triumphantly to the neighborhoods of chios.

This is the way we  designed the game according to this custom.

Step 1: we represent custom making our own boats. The children are divided into groups and make their own boat.

Step 2: They give it a name ( love boat, seabird boat, lemon boat and delta boat) and decorate it as they like.

Step 3: Children write games for every boat and sings them in public.

Step 4: Then they vote the boat they like most. This is the winning boat.

Main goals: cooperation, imagination, knowledge of local customs, song composition.

Christmas games: Help the Santa Claus choose new reindeer to drag his sled.

Santa's reindeer stuck with flue. It's impossible to drag the sled and distribute gifts to the children all over the world.

The Santa is desperate and makes an annoucement: " Attention!! Urgently new reindeers are urged to drag the sled. Children are in risk of missing out their gifts. Those who are interested can pass from Santa Claus workshop and getting tested. The best will be the new sledge reindeer".

First try: The children are divided into two groups. They take one ornament and decorate the Christmas tree. The team that will decorate the Christmas tree faster is the winner.

Second try: Relay race. The team that will touch the reindeer's nose first is the winner.

Third try: The kids are held a gift in their hands. If they manage to get to the end of the route without falling down they win.

Fourth try: memory game: Whoever finds the most cards wins.

Fifth try: word game: The team that will make the most Christmas words wins.

The winner team dances the reindeer dancing and the journey just begins.

Main goals: cooperation, creativity, fun and knowledge.
