In March, ETV (Estonian National Broadcasting)  and Rakett 69 (Estonian Science competition)  announced a competition for the Goldberg machine, which received more than 300 entries.

Young people as well as old people, families and groups of friends joined the call of the Goldberg machine. The works came primarily from Estonia, but also participated elsewhere. Among the works submitted to the competition were simple and fast solutions, as well as more complex and long-chain machines. Everything is handy as tools and the machines have been put into operation both indoors and outdoors.

On April 22, the winner of the Goldberg Machine 2020 popular vote was announced on TV. The machine built by Helena and Gerda Jäe "Ready for training?!" turned out to be the people's favorite.

You can see the winner and all other entries on the Novaator.err.ee webpage

    What's the Goldberg machine?

"It is a machine intentionally designed to perform a simple task in an indirect and overly complicated way. Usually, these machines consist of a series of simple unrelated devices; the action of each triggers the initiation of the next, eventually resulting in achieving a stated goal. " Wikipedia
