    Hello from Lady Fox!

Lady Fox has been doing a lot of interesting things in Latvia with Saldus elementary schools students - grades 1st A and 5th A.

On the first days when Lady Fox arrived she participated in an english lesson outdoors with 1st grade students. They learned about seasons - autumn in particular. We went to find out what has changed in nature and what happens with animals and birds when the cold arrives.

Later on once again Lady Fox was visiting in the 1st grade and they all togehther went on a trip to explore our city Saldus. Lady Fox walked visited all the great places in Saldus. Their trip ended in the schools stadium where they all together had sports game.

When Lady Fox visited the 5th grade she had much serious things to do. They all together worked on the energy chart. On this energy chart they worked for two good lessons. Lady Fox had the chance to work with bouth groups, so she got familiar with all ofthe students and their work ethic.

But when Christmas time came, Ladu Fox had a lot of interesting things to do. At firt she went to Saldus history and art museum where she and the 5th grade made Christmas cards for our schools elderly teachers. Then she had the chance to visit Saldus ice-cream factory and taste their delicious ice-cream. And after that she went to see our Christmas concert and was helping the 5th grade to celebrate the arrival of winter holidays!

    CZECH MASCOTS IN CYPRUS

Czech mascot was in Cyprus and now travel to Latvia

LADY FOX is in THE BASQUE COUNTRY.

    Hello from Zeberio!!

On February 4th there is a tradition in the Basque Country to sing to Saint Agueda. It is based on a pagan ritual that symbolizes how farmers prepared the land for the new crops before spring. You usually sing with the help of a stick that hits the ground following the song´s rhyme.

Students spent all the day singing from house to house and collecting money for school.

On February 21st, we celebrated carnival at school. this year´s topic was space. 2 and 3 year olds dressed up as extraterrestrian, 4 year olds were astronauts, 5 year olds were our Solar System. Then in Primary they dressed up as characters from famous films about space and aliens: E.T., Avatar and Star wars.

An expert in Mythology came to school to tell hcildren about Carnival and Basque traditions related to that season. It was really interesting. I learnt lots of things. Do you know? Most of our traditions are suposed to be based on religious matters but in fact, they are much older than that. They come from pagan times.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lady Fox is still in Zeberio. She had a very hard time when school was closed in March 2020 due to COVID-19. But, fortunately, children came back to stay in September and we could meet again.

Though it has been quite an odd year with very few special activities, this is what Lady Fox witnessed:

    MAY

5th and 6th class ent to an adventure camp to spend the day. After a difficult school year, we wanted to have some fun before summeer holiday..

We decided it was a dangerous place to take Lady Fox ( even if she is a very brave mascot- we know),that i s why, she felt jealous when she saw our pictures.

    JUNE

Students in 6th class went to Bilbao. We spent the whole day visiting different places and then we went for a pizza. Lady Fox could´t come with us this time either but we told her about the good time we had as soon as we came back,

    JUNE

This time Lady Fox attended a magic show that 4th class prepared during their English lessons. She enjoyed it a lot. Now she wants to be a MAGICIAN!!!

    ABRACADABRA, ABRACADOO!!!!!
