Project 4: Functions and curves

  • Project 3: Art with functions

    • Quadratic and trigonomic functions (GER)

These artworks were created in a lesson in which I had to replace another teacher. Students of grade 9 in this class had worked with GeoGebra very rarely, last time a long time ago. They know the math of quadratic and trignomic functions. Parabolas could be easily constructed by using a tool that creates a parbola on the basis of three points. It was new for my students that functions could be rotated.
Here some examples of their work.

I tried to construct it in  the same way with GeoGebra Norma Lisa Neiman

    Work from Romania

Mihaela, do you like to add your work that you just had done?

    Transformations of functions

I will use this art work based on trigonomic functions to introduce into functions like f(x)=a*sin(a(x-b)) +c that we teach in grade 10.

Interesting and artistic work. Congratulation for the german team!
    Mihaela

    wonderful work

good idea to use loci and tracing. I will study it later more intensively.

    Congratulations!

for the italian team. Excellent work!
