TEAM CONTEST (youngsters)

  • Which country likes to participate?

    picture

It is a contest for beginners in GeoGebra with some math, additionally. We work in three steps. Each step does not take more than one lesson. If there are more than 3 participating countries we can make a plan and a time table to explain where to send files.  Each participating country works on each step.

The rating at the end (done by represents of each country) will be based mostly on artistic criteria. In the second part each country can implement some maths in their math classes when discussion the results.

Part 1: 6 files GER to CRO CRO to RO RO to GER
Part 2: 6 files from CRO to RO from GER to CRO from RO to GER
Part 3: 6 files from RO to GER from GER to CRO from CRO to RO

Part 1: GeoGebra-files until  2 th february (Romania can send before) to the other country  (zipped).
Each GeoGebra-file should include in a text-box the name of a famous artist or an art periode an some sentences about the artist or the period. The teacher zips all files and send it via email to the respective teacher.

Part 2: Geogebra-files until 16 th february to the country according to the table. the teacher zips it and send it via email.

Part 3: GeoGebra-files until 27 th february  in one zip-file sending to the partner according to the table.

As a lot of students were ill I have to postpone the date for one week. (Monika from GER)

    Voting critera

One teacher of CRO, RO and GER and the italian teacher who had the idea of implementating more art (famous painter) have voted according the following criteria:

  • Comments to the contest

    Germany ...

likes to participate. If possible add your country until 7th january. I can make a plan.

    Possible math questions

    Name the triangles created
How many line segments were needed?
What if we add more dots up to 10?
What was the largest angle created? Size?
What was the smallest angel created? Size?
How many total triangles can you find in the design? Quadrilaterals? Pentagons? Hexagons?

    Nice idea (IT)

I suggest that each work has to have an art topic too. For example First part-country: My idea is about trangles and minimal art so I draw three points above and under and I write minimal art. The second part-other country that accepts: draws the polygons and colour them. The third part- country animates. There is an Art thread that ties the work and contribution.

    Idea from IT- comment

Hello, the idea with a topic is good. Perhaps it is good to open it, an art topic or an artist. I tired out to fill the triangles with images. I will send you the file, Norma Lisa. (from GER)

Part 3 or Part 4 (RO)

Can be at choice to add text to the shape/picture or create a little problem (length, angles with trigonometry or else, congruence, similarity, slope for the line, etc...or the twice.
At the final we can create a collection of problems on math topics for grades 5,6, 7, 8,9.......

    Part 4

In my opinion it could be an additional part. Take the unanimated file (mostly)and write the problem in a textbox in the file! paractically it can be done by students who have the unanimated file (students from part 2 or part 3). But this will take much more time. Monika

    Worksheet

I have made a worksheet for my students about painters and periods of art to prepare the description of artists in part 1 of the contest. As i have translated it in English you may use it if you are not sure that students know enough about famous painters.

    Croatia

    Hello,
we started working on the project. The idea is great. I think the results will be wonderful.
