ASCENSION
Usually in May (40 days after Easter), we have the most imortant festivity in Chamusca: Ascension. If you want to know this festivity, you can see those presentations and one day, if you want, come to Chamusca and feel the joy of this day!!
You can also know something about the Portuguese Popular Saints: Saint Anthony, Saint John and Saint Peter; we celebrate them in June.

CARNIVAL IN PORTUGAL
The 1st November All Saints’ Day
Here in Portugal we always celebrated the 1st November All Saints ‘Day. And you ask me: what is this?
All Saints ‘Day is, for us children and young people, the day when we get up, we join in groups or even with our family and we go from door to door to ask for sweets. Well, this is what we think is the most important but in reality All Saints ‘Day is the day we pray to all the saints known and unknown, martyrs and Heroic Christians. This day is also dedicated to all who have died in our families. By rule, the Portuguese families put flowers and candles on the graves of their relatives in the cemeteries.
On 31st October, that is, one day earlier, Halloween is celebrated but because of American influence. On that day we also dress our scary costumes and in some places we go to parties. At our school we usually have a project contest in which all students participate. In this contest we create a 3D project according to the topic teachers give us, but of course, a scary one. This year the topic was “Horror Frames”.
However, Halloween is not a Portuguese tradition.
