IIS Della Corte Vanvitelli” is a Technical Secondary School, located in Cava de’ Tirreni in the south -west of Italy, in the region Campania. The town is a very nice place, rich in history and traditions. It has been named “Town of Folkore“ for its many events. Its economy is principally based on commerce and tourism. It is very close to the Amalfi Coast and Salerno. There are two main branches in our school such as the Technological one, which includes Construction, Environment and Territory , Graphic Art and Communication and Electronics and Electrical engineering (biomedical) and the Economic one which includes Finance , Administration and Marketing, Tourism and Informatics. This year we have had the opportunity of enlarging our edication offer with two new Study courses Fashion Industry and Telecommunication. The students study Italian, Foreign languages, History, Science, Chemistry, Physics, Informatics , Graphic, Economy, Law and Technical drawing , which is a form of graphic communication used in transforming an idea into physical form by the use of CAD systems or arkicad systems. Other technical subjects taught in our school are: Construction Management , Geopedology which refers to the study of environmental management, geological hazard evaluation and antropic impact, Building technology, Topography and Systems. Building surveyors provide professional advice and services to building owners. New subjects will be introduced in the next years as consequence of the new coursesWe have 880 students subdivided in 38 classes. Once qualified, the students can work in a wide range of different areas including the design of new buildings, refurbishment, specification and Supervision of construction work, alterations and extensions to existing buildings, tourism services , accountancy, editing, printing and private companies and public institutions. They may also be involved in negotiation with property owners when building work affect their legal rights. After school, leaving students are granted admission to any Italian University Department.
