    Every third in Germany uses social media. 87% of all Internet users are active on Facebook, YouTube and Co, and among the 14 to 29-year-olds it is even 98 %. On average, social media users are registered on three platforms. The younger respondents (14 to 29 years) even at five. Of the 50 to 64 year olds, 80% are in at least one network. At least 65% of the over 65s. Two-thirds of all Internet users have used Facebook in the last three months, and just over half on YouTube. 28& are active on Instagram, 20% in Pinterest and 19% in Twitter. For 14-29 year olds, Instagram and Snapchat play an important role, while interest in the two platforms decreases significantly with increasing age.68% of Internet users claim to maintain private contacts and make new ones. 57% are informed about the day's events.

    The Shell Youth Study shows low confidence among 12-to 25-year-olds in mainstream political parties. They are perceived as well-lubricated apparatuses that cannot be influenced from the outside. Politicians make the young feel neglected.  "Politicians don't care how I think," this sentence signing 69 percent of young people. Interest in politics is by no means low: This slumped to 34 percent by 2002 after peaking in 1991 (57 percent). Meanwhile, however, 46 percent of boys again say they are politically interested. When asked if they are committed to social and political goals and to other people in leisure, over a third answer yes. Youth interests, commitment to vulnerable and vulnerable people, security, order and coexistence, the environment, the integration of foreigners and changes in the neighborhood. They are not only involved in Internet forums, but also in associations, groups at school and college, youth organizations, church communities and the volunteer fire brigade.

    98% of 14 and 18 year olds own a smartphone.

    More than 42% of respondents are constantly active and always have their smartphone with them, a further 51% are at least frequently active and at least have it directly in their vicinity.

    "Whatsapp" is  the most used  app, opened by the youngsters in the morning, a quarter of them open more snapchat.

    In addition, "Youtube and Instagram" are the most used flat dies in the daytime (69% and 65% respectively use this platform daily.

    Online video beat "TV" over a third of young people watch no TV at all, online videos are watched 97% of Generation Z.

    More than 60% of teenagers order online.
