  • Sami people day + Skansen

    The 6th of February is Sami people´s national day. That is the reason we visited the Skansen to know their history and their culture. Of course, we couldn´t have missed rendeers as vital part of their lives. 

    1. How can you explain the word "Skansen" and why is important for our future?

    2. How can you recognize that it is a Sami?

    3. Why Sami people couldn´t study and take an active part in politics?

    4. Do you think that the presentation of our project in front of the politicians does have an important impact? Why?

    5. Could you find some similarities between our project and the ideas of the politicians in Akersberga?

     

  • Sami people day + Skansen

    Group 4

    1.Skansen is the first open air museum, and zoo in Sweden. It collected all the Swedish heritage that’s why is important, because it talks about our past.
    2. We can recognize a Sami because the colour clothes, they speak a different language and they are short.
    3. Sami couldn’t study because it was said that Sami had a small brain, and form of the head. So they were predestined to be in the countryside.
    4. Yes, we think that that was a little step to demostrate how the youngers are thinking and reflexing in our future.
    5. Yes, we want almost the same things, sustainable habits, and help minorities. The mayor wanted to improve social life and said it was beneficial for other sustainabilities and Erasmus is a way of communicating and socialising.

    Group 7

    1)Skansen is an open- air museum with collections of historical structures and wild animals.

    2) They have special clothes and can be a little shorter. Although, Sami people are living normal lives.

    3) They were descriminated because swedish people thought that they are not so intelectual and they could not study because their job was to work with the reindeers . Therefore, sami people weren’ t active enough in politics because the swedish people thought they weren’t smart enough to ne in charge of such a powerful place.

    4) We think that it does have an important impact because the politicians get to know about our project and maybe support us in any way they can.

    5) Some similarities we can think of are: they want a better and sustainable future just like us, they want to make connections around the world and support unity like we are doing,

    Group 6

    1) Skansen is open air museum offering people to get to know better about traditions, habits and life of certain culture. It conserves the knowledge about the culture and the next generations can learn about it and be aware about what in the past.
    2) The person feels being Sami and knows the language, but also, some of the previous generation talks their language. They also wear Sami suit.
    3) Other inhabits said they were strangers and their only work was as reindeer keepers.
    4) Yes, because if the politicians see our work they can support it in other schools, develop it and make it bigger.
    5) Yes, because the current municipality focus on sustainability and communication and in general all topics we discussed.

    Group 8

    1. It's a museum and it preserves our culture. It's so that the future generations do not forget it.
    2. The clothes and the ver strong collar.
    3. People belived that the sami people couldn't think or be creative.
    4. It is important because it is important for the politicians to know what we are doing and discussing about. We're discussing about important topics so the politicians need to know what we come up with.
    5. Yes we did. A sustainable future is important for both the politicians and the people of the world.

    Group 2

    1. Working together to enable each other.
    2. They have special bracelet (Sami bracelet).
    3. People thought that Sami people were not “normal”.
    4. We think that it is important because the politicians can see the impact of different cultures working together.
    5. They care as much as we do about the climate change.

    Group 3

    1. It’s an open air museum. It serves to preserve the way of lifestyle and the architecture.
    2. The buildings were kinda sort of round.
    3. They were treated like less intelligent people and more close to nature.
    4. We believe that it showed a way of young students’ thinking to politicians.
    5. Sustainable future and minority rights are goals of both of us.

    Group 1

    1-It is an open museum where you can see how Sami people lived and you can see also some animals like rendeers that Sami used to get aliments and travel with them.
    2-Because they speak a diferent language and they wear coloured clothes.
    3-Because Swidish people thought that they had no intelligence.
    4-Yes, because presenting new projects can incentivate politicians and maybe make more projects like this one.
    5-We both want the best for the people, the theme if this mobility is sustainability so people can live happy and healthy.

    Group 5

    1. Skansen is the first open air museum, wich means it has no roof. Skansen litteraly means fortress.
    2. Sami people have a special kind of clothing. The collar of the traditional shirt is very hard, therefore it is easy to recognise.
    3. It had to do with discrimination of the Sami people. They were not alowed because the swedish racial institute saw them as less inteligent.
    4. Yes this is importante in order to make the polticians understand the importance of international relations.
    5. Yes the politicians thought that in order to develop our society we have to face the climate changing. The politicians saw the climate crisis as something urgent just as we do.
