Sustainable habits and culture

You have two (2) different activities to be done before the mobility in Sweden. This mobility focus on sustainability and both when it comes to cultural heritage and nowadays habits. So these two following pre activities are to be done before we meet in Sweden.

1. Sami blood. (2016)

Watch the movie Sami blood (It is 1,28 hrs) and answer the following questions:

1. In the film, scientists are seen measuring the body proportions of Elle Marja and other Sames. Why are they doing this and what is it called?

2.  Elle Marja is treated very poorly when she is studying in Uppsala. Why do you think she is treated worse than her fellow students? 

3.  Can you find any other historical events where minorities in Europe have been treated poorly?

4. The Sames are an official minority population in Sweden. Does your country have any official minorities? Have these minorities also experienced discrimination from the state?

5. Elle Marja chooses to identify herself with a modern way of living, while her sister Njemma chooses a more traditional one. Does it have to be either?Are there other alternatives?

6. What do you think about your life and identity? Is it traditional/modern or both? Discuss the values and qualities which are important for your identity!
