3. THANK YOU Day (11 January)

  • January 11th is International Thank-You Day

It is an annual celebration observed on January 11th of every year.

Saying a thank you needs to be celebrated. The international Day encourages you to tell a heartfelt thank you as to appreciate and acknowledge people surrounding you.

A single word will make the people around you little warmer and happier.

Please, dear students and teachers, participate in the DISCUSSION following  in this page! Thank you!

Also, I invite you to promote this International Thank-You Day in your schools, make some activities*** and post here the results!

*** For example, in my school (Daugavpils, Latvia) I made posters to invite all the students and teachers in my school to say THANK YOU publicly - they can write thankfull words on sheets of paper, decorate them and bring in school's library. I invite to say thank you to whom we forget to do it in an every-day hurry: cleaners, cooks in canteens, security guards, yardmans etc. And later I will collect all of them and make a big poster or a wall in my library.

*** Another idea is students to create their "thank you small book" (using an A4 sheet of paper; you can find a "how to do this detailed description" in IBGD)  and exchange their books in class. This thank you is for something they think that is positive in their life (like appreciation of what we are and have and live).
