LLT - Sweden

  • Activities organized in Sweden:

The first learning activity took place at the Johannebergsskolan School in Sweden on January 22-26th, 2018. There were 5 pupils and 3 teachers from the Netherlands, 4 pupils and 3 teachers from Germany, 2 pupils and 3 teachers from Greece, 2 pupils and 2 teachers from Lithuania, 2 pupils and 2 teachers from Romania, 4 pupils and 2 teachers from Italy, 3 teachers from Ireland. Students were hosted in the Swedish students' families. The advantage of the Swedish partners was that in this country most people speak very well the second language of international circulation - English. So our students have improved communication in English due to the fact that in the host families they spoke English. Every day our students had the same program as the  host children: they attended classes - here the communication was only in Swedish, they had meal in the school canteen,  after school schedule they  have participated in ludic or club activities together with partner children; so our children experienced the Swedish food tastes, visited the city, were at the movies, were at the museums with the host families, so they improved their knowledge of the city of Gothenburg, the culture of the Swedes. At school they attended lessons taught in the Montessori system. Workshops were organized using the STEAM method at the Universeum Museum, and they learned to use the robot at the Elyseum School partner. Teachers accompanied their students at all classes and workshops organized in school. We have seen the way in which Swedish teachers teach. After leaving school, teachers attended workshops organized at Chalmers University, Clean Room, Goteborg Technical Education Institute.  All students and teachers from the partner schools participated in the following activities: they voted for the project logo - the winner was the one proposed by the Romanian team, created by  Iulia Virlan; were presented the results of research on equipment used most often in the kitchen / house / yard; the pupils made a brief presentation of their school; the teachers participated in the presentation of the Swedish education system, worked with the Lithuanian team on STEAM activities that can be done with the students in exchange of best practices, viewed the Scientix platform presented by the team in Greece. On the last day of the meeting, the teams in each participating country made a film about Swedish school in English and their mother tongue - so they experienced the use of ICT tools. After finishing our partner school activities in Gothenburg and Stokholm, we organized for our students the following activities: visiting the Vasa-Stockholm Museum, changing the Swedish Royal Guards, Storkyrkan Cathedral visit, Old Stockholm Square, Gamla Stan, a trip by ship through the Stockholm Islands, a trip by metro in  Stocholm, ABBA Museum Visit, Stocholm Gondollen, Ericsson Globe Skyview Goteborg, Goteborg Harbour and Boat Tour, Langholmen Museum Goteborg (hotel prison). Gothenburg's learning activity had the following finality: improving English language skills, competencies for using various means of transport, improving technical, artistic, mathematical scientific and engineering skills in general, exchanging best practices between  teachers using the methods of  class working, improving geographic and cultural knowledge about the Swedish people, experimenting behaviour of respect, tolerance in a cultural environment with so much cultural diversity - 8 participating countries, children and teachers.
