Impact of the project
At the beginning of our project, the concept of Internet risks was just a word we heard and we repeated. What are these risks? How can we detect them and confront them?
Via our surveys we were able to identify many problems that our students and children face on the Internet. Thanks to the cooperation and collaboration between our students through the sharing of duties that we have discovered many of these problems faced by our children and students to arm them with the right rules and advices.
The results of the surveys and novels in the storytelling part enabled us to train our students on how to create a strong password and the use of applications and reliable links to measure the strength and confidentiality of their passwords .By the way, this concept well impressed the majority of our students to complete all its activities.
We stood at a very important point, about how to distinguish between secure and unsecure websites and what are the trickeries used for deception. We have noticed the interest of all our partners to do all the activities for both phases of the project.
Since the work of our students is based on the search for information through the network or to accomplish a research asked by their teacher, to get the right answer we carried out a brainstorming, the provided information showed that our students ignored this concept and thinking that any information online is reliable .So, our students got the chance to learn the criteria of a reliable website or information online by using the CRAAP test. Learning this concept will arm our students from being victims online.
At the beginning our students ignore the concept of copyrights and data protection , but due to well proposed activities and with collaboration that our students discovered the 6 common creative licenses , even some partners and students said it integrally we saw such licenses but either we never give any importance or we didn’t understand their meanings. Really it was a new discovery for both our students and some partners.
In front of the spread of the phenomenon of suicide of our children because of electronic games, especially with the blue whale game, which was addressed in most of the work of our students, either through their drawings or their novels in the storytelling or In their comic strips .for that reason, we integrated the internet addiction concept starting from the causes to the preventive solutions. A great response from all colleagues to accomplish all the activities to go beyond by creating voluntarily flyers and posters drawings many comic strips, animated videos and videos, to protect our children from the dangers of addiction by providing advices and rules to both their children and parents, especially on how to detect the symptoms of addiction and how to deal with.
The subject of Cyberbullying, despite its importance , in front of the huge work in the project and the activities to be achieved which coincided with the start of exams, it was not possible for some partners to be limited to answer the survey , did the important activities and the completion of posters and videos.
About the digital citizenship, which was completed part of it during the first phase of the project, which won the admiration of most partners to be completed in the second phase with some new activities, the rest of the parts were limited to the completion of brochures and posters, animated videos and comic strips
This project was also a very tangible thing in the motivation of our students to learn and to express in English it was an opportunity to use this language more than during lessons.
The project was an effective way to refine the English level of our students, orally through videos and writing through the novels mentioned in storytelling part.
The project has had a positive effect on our students in learning many applications their right use and doing great job and honestly we noticed something unusual how our students used the information on a particular subject provided by our students partners to accomplish a cognitive posters , or comic strips or animated videos.
We have been touched either through the project's forum or through the Visio conferences ( webinars ) where it was a wonderful opportunity to get acquainted and communicate with each other .We have also seen positive interaction through the opinions, novels and morals mentioned in the different collaborative walls ( padlet and linoit )
At the end, this project was a great opportunity to:
- Know the ways and means of protection against the dangers of Internet, especially the topics that have been touched and that affect all who enter the network
- Improve the skills of our students in using English orally and writing
- Developing the skills of our students in the creative production through the wonderful works of posters, brochures, comic strips and animated videos.
- Instill in our students the love of work collaboratively and cooperatively
The last word repeated by most of our students , we hope to meet in other projects because it enabled us to learn many concepts and to know friends from other countries .
Dessimination
Our project partners will present the different steps of the project , its products and its impact on students , parents and the civilian society by:
- Organizing school events ( in site events )
- Publishing the work on social media such as facebook , twitter , linkedeln , whatsapp
- Publishing via newspapers , radio and television
