Through this step, we aim to help our students and encourage them to reading
- Comic strips are a way to help our students understand and think, to deepen the understanding of the design of the comic dedicated to learning
- Comic strips represent an effective awareness raising tool of our students , the comic strip is a teaching aid that has already proved its worth.
- Through comic strips learners are more sensitive and receptive to the messages they want to convey. The image and the illustration rather than the text attract learners more, often in need of concentration.
- Comic strips are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for learners, whatever their age.
- The comic strips are not a low level reading. The combination of text-image-sequence narratively promotes the processing of information in a deep way and can improve the retention of information.
In final, comic strips can be educational as they encourage reading, promote the development of reading skills, and are informative, educational and didactic
The main features of a comic strip
- It's a story,told in pictures,
- There is a succession of small boxes of different sizes (thumbnails)
- The story can be complete on only a few boxes, on an entire sheet (the board) or on several (the album, the magazine),
- The words of the characters appear in bubbles,
- Explanations are given in cartridges.
