Oral History - Third day

  • After the Portuguese migration to Nordhorn, the students examine the Turkish migration. Like the Portuguese migrants, the Turkish came to Nordhorn to work in the former important textile industry of Nordhorn.

The third day the group rides to the Mosque of Nordhorn. The friendly Imam of the young Muslim parish and some members of the parish inform the students about the religious life in the diaspora. They offer the group in their tea room tea and sweets and afterwards the students ask different members of the Turkish community about their life in Nordhorn, about the reasons of the migration, the problems, and the chances.

Two girls of the German school present the exciting third day in a short video. The interview partners speak German and Turkish.
