TEAM UP

  • In this page, the partners created transnational teams and worked on a mosaic from each of the participating countries.The students could choose a differenent aspect of the artwork to focus on, i.e the history of the mosaic, its artistic background and math/geometry quizzes depending on what they were mostly interested in. The students were thus allowed the freedom to express personal preferences  (student autonomy) and take on personal responsibility about the outcome of their work.  In this way, students from all the countries studied mosaics of different time periods, artistic styles and themes and were given the chance to approach them using mathematical thinking and knowledge. 

    There were also teams working on tasks about the number π, the creation of a zeemap with all the locations that were used in the project and the tasks about the geometry behind the construction of a kite.
