  • Throughout the school year, our students were at homeschooling more than at school, but it didn't disturb them from participating in the  various project activities online.

Students from grades 1 to 4 made snow figures and ice decorations .They decorated the garden or balcony with an unusual but typical winter decor, create ice sculptures with frozen natural materials.

Everyone took a picture of their work and sent it to teachers in order to put them  on Facebook page.

It's a strange time for everyone.  We look forward to the corona vaccine with hope. But there is no vaccine for global warming. The cure for the climate virus is our climate actions. That is why our slogan for the 17th edition of Thick Sweater Day is: FULL POWER for the climate. If we train for the climate every day, we can achieve a lot together.

Our students took a part in ‘’Thick Sweater Day’’.  They dressed warmly on “Thick Sweater Day” to fight climate change . The aim was  to show that everyone can save energy and reduce CO2 emissions by taking a few simple actions .They sent photos from homes.

The World Water Day is an an opportunity to encourage everyone to pay attention to the importance of water resources . This day has been celebrated in Latvia since 1996.

The first Forest Days in Latvia took place on May 12, 1928. Forest Days have been held every year since 1928.

March 21, 2021 - International Forest Day, where we invited students to restore  communication with the forest - by going for walks and improving knowledge - researching and learning about the forest, its significance in Latvia and in the world.

The theme of the Forest Day 2021 was Forest Preservation - for a healthier and better life! Tasks for our students were -  Go to the forest, park or garden! Take photos at the largest, thickest, oldest, the most beautiful tree. Tell your friends about it on social networks. You can also plant a tree!

Our students took a part in ‘’The Earth Hour’’ on March 27 th.

This year, the usual gathering events and physical presence at the moment of turning off city light objects with the slogan "Stand up for nature!" was replaced by a sense of community and digital solidarity.

We can't be side by side together, but we can be together virtually! The World Wide Fund for Nature invites you to symbolically reduce the lighting in your home and connect to the Earth Hour concert on your computer.

Starting with Earth Day, the Eco-School program begins five cycles of erudition or mind games. The tournaments will test young people's knowledge of nine Ecoschool topics: transport, energy, food, water, waste, forest, biodiversity, climate change, environment and health.

On May 6, some 8th and 7th grade students participated in the "Ecoschool Brain Games". The tournaments tested young people's knowledge of nine Ecoschool topics: transport, energy, food, water, waste, forest, biodiversity, climate change, environment and health.

Joy for Reinis's 8th place. Nikola was the best  in the 7th grade.

May 20 is International Bee Day.

Students from  3rd grade visited organic  beekeeping farm and learned  about  bees, about ancient and modern ways of extracting honey, as well as various beekeeping products.

By taking care of bees, we are actually saving a large part of all living nature, thus ensuring biodiversity.

Unfortunately, the bees known in Latvia - European dark honey bees - are rapidly disappearing. Beekeepers, based on research around the world, point out that the rapid decline in bee colonies is to blame for the pesticides sprayed by farmers in the fields.

Albert Einstein said: "If bees disappeared from the face of the earth, humanity would only exist for four more years. Without bees, many plant species will not be pollinated and extinct, and so will animals and, ultimately, humans. ”
