IT@school, our Project

In June 2015 four European schools (Balassi Bálint Nyolcévfolyamos Gimnazium -Budapest, Hungary-, Go! Campus Het Spoor -Mol, Belgium-, Hofstad Lyceum -The Hague, Holland- and IES Emilio Alarcos -Gijón, Spain-) started an Erasmus+ (KA219) Project titled IT@school. Through the Project, and learning with and from each other, the institutions pretended to cooperate in the development and implementation of innovative practices in order to increase basic skills (digital and language skills) between their students and teachers.

The Project evolves around project-based transnational cooperation built both on real and virtual collaboration activities (blended learning). In order to get their goals, students and teachers use the TwinSpace to introduce themselves (on their own wall, through the Padlets created for each age/mobility group, through the ice breaking activities in the forums, ...) and start working together, preparing the activities they will finish during the mobilities.

On each mobility (Budapest, The Hague, Mol, Gijón), and working on same age national groups, students should give a presentation related to their country, region, city and school to host students not directly involved in the Project. Besides, once in the host school, students work together in international same age groups on a shared topic (logo, survey related to the use of ICT, eSafety, Safer Internet Day, Bring your own device activities -BYOD-, using IT to learn/teach languages, ...) and are introduced by host students to three free online apps (Web 2.0). Once back at home they should share their experience with students and teachers and they have to create a tutorial related to one of the apps learned during the mobility.

Besides, during the two year Project, some other activities to get to know each other and improve the "group feeling" take place on the TwinSpace (shared activities).

Furthermore, along the Project, students have developed their own IT@school app and have created their own 3D Virtual World on The Education District.
